Assistive Technology Assistant – Downey Office

 

Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, the Assistive Technology Assistant supports and promotes Assistive Technology services and assists the AT Coordinator with daily functions. This is a part-time position.

Job Duties:

  1. Represent organization at outreach functions to promote SCRS services including Assistive Technology services.
  2. Assist AT Coordinator in educating consumers and the public about Assistive Technology issues and topics.
  3. Provide information and referral for Assistive Technology.
  4. Develop Individualized Independent Living Plans for consumers, when necessary.
  5. Assist AT Coordinator in maintaining and updating a library of vendor and funding resources for Assistive Technology, and provide and update resource information to AT Network.
  6. Assist in coordination of AT recycling program.
  7. Assist AT Coordinator with specific projects as assigned by Program Manager and Executive Director.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word; type 35 wpm.
  3. Functional skills in operation of standard office equipment.
  4. Knowledge of Independent Living Philosophy.
  5. Ability to travel locally.
  6. Personable with professional presentation.

Job Developer: Various locations

Job Description:

SCRS seeks applicants on a continuing basis for the position of Job Developer. The Job Developer is responsible for coordinating the placement of persons with disabilities into competitive employment. Duties include assessment of client vocational goals, assisting clients with development of resumé and job search skills, and development of employer contacts. The position entails follow up services to clients and detailed monthly reports.

Personal Assistant Registry

Job Description:

Southern California Rehabilitation Services is continually seeking outgoing, friendly people to assist our consumers in their homes. Duties vary depending on consumer needs, but may include assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), oral medication, cooking, feeding, housework, laundry, shopping, and transportation to doctor appointments.

We serve people with disabilities in 17 cities: Bell, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Cerritos, Commerce, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, La Mirada, Lynwood, Maywood, Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs, Paramount, Pico Rivera, South Gate, and Whittier.

To become a Personal Assistant, you must first complete an application packet. To receive an application packet by mail, please call the Personal Assistance Services Coordinator. Once you have completed and returned the application packet, you may schedule an interview. Interviews are by appointment only.
